Virginia Lucero Jemez Pueblo Indian Pottery

Virginia Lucero makes fine storytellers in the “Classic” Jemez style. She was taught to pot by Marie G. Romero, one of the Jemez potters most responsible for the renaissance of Jemez pottery in the 1970s.

Virginia pays great attention to the small details that give her storytellers so much personality. She has been potting about 14 years and says she was partly drawn to pottery making because it enables her to earn a living while still living in the village.
