Shaleene Chavarria is a very young potter with a bright future.
She started working with the clay at the age of 3 and at 8-9 years of age coiled her first pot.
Shaleene is the daughter of the late Joey Chavarria (son of Stella Chavarria) and Vickie Martinez. She had three fine teachers: her great grandmother, Teresita Naranjo; her grandmother, Barbara Martinez; and her mother, Vickie Martinez.
At the age of 17, Shaleene started to design her pots based on her own ideas.
Currently 20 years old (2004), she is doing very elegant and classic Santa
Clara pots.
